Dragi potencijalni putnici, došlo je do izmjene datuma polaska, a sve ostalo u planu putovanja je kao što ste već vidjeli. Radovala bih se da mi se javite tijekom ožujka, ako planirate putovanje da bih vas mogla obavjestit o svim mogućim promjenama, posebno cijene putovanja (smanjenju!).

30.08.17: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet and assist by our representative and transfer to the hotel.

31.08.17: Visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath and Patan City

Kathmandu City: The capital of Nepal, is also known as Kantipur. It is named after Kasthamandap, an imposing Pagoda near Hanuman Dhoka Palace. Kasthamandap, supposed to be made from a single tree, along with Durbar Square is one of the ancient places of Nepal. Swayambhunath: one of the World’s most glorious Buddhist Stupas, painted on the four-sides of the spire bases are the never sleeping eyes of Lord Buddha. It lies 3 km west of the city and situated about 77m above the level of the Valley.
We proceed for sightseeing tour of Patan. This sister capital is an ancient city, which is also known as Lalitpur. This city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments with bronze gateways, guardian deities and wonderful carvings. It is also known as the city of fine arts and for the superb craftsmanship of its artisans.

01.09.17: Visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath and Bhaktapur City.

Pashupatinath Temple: a sacred temple of Lord Shiva Pashupatinath with two-tiered golden roof situated on the banks of the sacred river Bagmati. It is the centre of Annual Pilgrimage on the day of Maha Shivaratri. This temple is situated amidst the lush green natural setting, 5 Km. East of city. Boudhanath: This colossal and ancient Buddhist Stupa, one of the biggest in the World, has the all seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels at a distance of 8 Km. East of city. Bhaktapur City is very damaged in the earthquake, and will take us to visit him realize how much Nepal suffered during the earthquake. Part of the sanctuary can be seen.
02.09.17: Transfer to the airport and fly to Lhasa. Upon arrival in Lhasa check-in to the hotel and rest of the day free to acclimatize.

Pick up from Gonggar airport, after finished immigration formalities it takes about 1 hour 30 minutes drive along 93 km road leading to Lhasa.

03.09.17: Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor

Today, you will visit the important places of Lhasa. The overwhelming Potala Palace is your first stop. As the symbol of Tibet, the Palace was built in 641 AD and the winter palace of Dalai Lama. Impressive Tibetan architecture, huge golden Buddha statues, red-robed lamas and devoted pilgrims all make it a must-visit. Later, you will visit the age-old Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet, and walk the special circular pilgrim route as local followers always do at the Barkhor Street.

04.09.17: Visit Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Norbulinka

After breakfast, you will tour the charming Norbulingka Park, which is known as “the Summer Palace of Tibet”, and then come to Drepung Monastery, an ancient temple once housed 10,000 monks in its heyday. You tour ends at Sera Monastery. Built in 1419, the monastery is one of the three largest monasteries in Tibet and famous for its Buddhism Scriptures Debates.

05.09.17: Drive from Lhasa to Shigatse. On the way stop at Gyantse and visit Palkor and Kumbum Stupa

About lunch time, visit Kumbum Stupa and Phalkor Chode Monastery. The Phalkor Monastery, the only monastery that houses monks from different sects (Gelupa, Sakyapa and Kahdampa) in harmony. Phalkor also features its Bodhi Stupa or Kumbum Stupa, which consists of hundreds of chapels in layers, housing about a hundred thousand images of Buddha, so it is called Myriad Buddha’s Stupa as well. The Gyantse Town is located 100km southeast of Shigatse. It takes about 2 hours to drive from Gyantse to Shigatse. Before checking in to the hotel, visit Tashilunpo Monastery. It is the seat of Panchen Lama. Each year, there is a display of a gigantic thangkas of Buddha will on its Thangka Wall. Beside the trove of thangkas, its murals and other religious and artistics treasures certainly will impose an indelible impression upon visitors. You will also pay a visit to the New Palace of Panchen.

06.09.17: Drive to Rongbuk.

Drive to Rongbuk in the morning. You reach Mt. Everest Base Camp today. Rongbuk is the home of the highest Monastery in the world, which is located 8 kms from Everest Base Camp. There are magnificent views up the valley of Mount Everest and Cho-Oyu which can be seen from the guest house.

07.09.17: Excursion of Everest Base Camp and then drive to Saga.

08.09.17: Drive to Mansarovar

Early morning drive to Serlung Gompa. Start Nandi Parikarma, about 7 hours to complete round. Return back to Sheralung Gompa and return back to Mansarovar Lake.

09.09.17: Drive to Darchen and trek to Driraphuk

Today, start your holy trek (Parikrama / Kora) in which you circumambulate Mt. Kailash. You begin with less than an hour’s drive towards Tarboche Flagpole / Sershong, after which you have to trek for approximately four hours via Chuku Monastery to reach Dirapuk. By now you would have traveled 20 km and would have climbed 200 mt. above Darchen. The trek offers myriad views the western face of Mt. Kailash and its fantastically changing hues at sunrise and sunset.

Trek from Dirapuk via the Drölma-la Pass (5,630 mt.) and Gauri Kund. En-route, you will also pass Shivasthal (5,330 mt.), one of the highest point in your trek and if legend is to be believed, where Lord Shiva and his wife Parvati used to sit. Pilgrims are supposed to undergo a symbolic death at this point, entering the realm of the Lord of the Dead, until they reach the top of the Drölma-la and are reborn again. It is customary to leave something behind at Shivasthal – an item of clothing, a drop of blood or a lock of hair, to represent the act of leaving this life behind.

12.09.17: Drive to Tirthapuri

The final end of the parikrama is an easy 2-3 hrs walk down to where the river emerges on to the Barga plain. We complete the 3 day circuit trek of Mt. Kailash and drive to Tirdapuri where there is a hot spring. Pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash is not complete without visiting Tirthapuri for the Tibetan Buddhists.

13.09.17: Drive to Toling

Visit Guge Kingdom ruin  and Tolhing Monastery on this day.

15.09.17: Drive to Mansarovar Lake

Lake Mansarovar is the highest freshwater lake in the world with its altitude of 4,556 mt. or 14,947 ft. and is relatively circular in shape with a circumference of 88 km. (55 miles) and average depth of 90 m (300 ft.). The entire lake with its stark turquoise complexion freezes over in winters and then melts again only in spring! According to legend, the lake is a personification of purity and anyone who drinks water from the lake will go to the heavens after death. Also, anyone who bathes in the lake is assumed to have washed away all sins committed over a hundred lifetimes! The belief in this legend is such that it brings the lake and the adjoining mountain, thousands of visitors each and every year.
